ABOUT THIS WINE
The V Malcorta Singular Verdejo 2017 is a distinctive white wine produced by Bodegas Javier Sanz Viticultor. It is made exclusively from the Malcorta clone of the Verdejo grape, a variety that was nearly extinct. The winery's commitment to preserving this unique clone is central to its identity. The wine originates from the Rueda Denominación de Origen (DO) in Castilla y León, Spain, a region known for its continental climate. Bodegas Javier Sanz is a family winery with a five-generation history, focused on preserving old vineyards and native grapes through a philosophy of minimal intervention combined with modern techniques. The Malcorta clone's characteristics, including late ripening and small bunches, contribute to the wine's profile.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The winemaking process for V Malcorta Singular Verdejo begins with a cold maceration of the grapes. Following pressing, the must undergoes a 24-hour settling period by gravity. Fermentation is carried out at temperatures below 15°C to preserve the aromatic profile of the fruit. The wine is then aged in stainless steel tanks. The harvest is performed mechanically.
