ABOUT THIS WINE
Vadio Rosé Sparkling Bruto is a 2020 vintage rosé sparkling wine from the Bairrada region of Portugal, produced by Vadio Wines. This family-run project, established in 2005, is dedicated to revitalizing traditional Bairrada grape varieties. The wine is made from a blend of 60% Bical, 30% Baga, and 10% Cercial, sourced from vines around 30 years old. The Bairrada region, influenced by the Atlantic and featuring clay-limestone soils, provides a distinctive terroir for these grapes. A unique aspect of this wine is its focus on showcasing the versatility of the Baga grape, a variety typically associated with red wines, balanced through careful maturation and production techniques.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The winemaking process for Vadio Rosé Sparkling Bruto begins with gentle whole-bunch pressing of the Bical, Baga, and Cercial grapes. The juice undergoes an initial fermentation in a mix of stainless steel tanks and used barrels. Following blending, the wine is bottled for its second fermentation, a key step in creating sparkling wine. It then rests on its lees for a minimum of 18 months before disgorgement. The harvest strategy prioritizes lively acidity in the grapes.
