ABOUT THIS WINE
La Farra Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore Extra Dry 2020 is a sparkling white wine from the Veneto region of Italy, specifically from the Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG appellation. Produced by the family-run La Farra winery, established by the Nardi family, the wine originates from vineyards in the high hills of Farra di Soligo and surrounding municipalities. The estate's vineyards are situated within a UNESCO World Heritage Site, reflecting a deep connection to the territory. This particular bottling comes from the 'Rive' of Farra di Soligo, indicating grapes sourced from specific, steep vineyard sites that are hand-picked. The 'Superiore' designation signifies adherence to higher quality standards within the DOCG. The 2020 vintage, while globally challenging, yielded high-quality Prosecco Superiore in this esteemed region.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
La Farra Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore Extra Dry 2020 is produced using traditional white wine vinification methods, beginning with a soft pressing of the Glera grapes. The primary fermentation occurs slowly over approximately 15 days at a controlled temperature of 18°C, followed by refinement in steel tanks at low temperatures. The secondary fermentation, essential for sparkling wine, is carried out using the Charmat Method in pressurized tanks for 25 to 30 days at 16-18°C. The wine then undergoes maturation in autoclaves for 3 to 4 months. Vineyard management includes environmentally friendly practices and adherence to the 'Viticultural Protocol' of the Consortium, which prohibits chemical herbicides, with SQNPI certification from Valoritalia.
