ABOUT THIS WINE
Valle Reale is an estate located in the heart of Abruzzo, Italy, specifically in the mountainous Peligna Valley, encompassing the villages of Popoli and Capestrano. Managed by Leonardo Pizzolo and with Emmanuel Merlo as winemaker, the estate is dedicated to producing wines that reflect the unique terroir of this high-altitude region. The vineyards are situated between 300 and 450 meters above sea level, benefiting from significant diurnal temperature variations. This climate, characterized by cold mountain winds, heavy snows, and hot summer days, delays ripening and preserves acidity, leading to intensely aromatic and structured wines. Valle Reale is committed to sustainable viticulture, holding both certified organic and Demeter biodynamic certifications.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The Valle Reale Trebbiano d'Abruzzo is crafted from 100% Trebbiano Abruzzese, a native clone grown on the estate's high-altitude vineyards. The grapes are sourced from vines aged 15 years or more, with yields meticulously restrained to approximately 4.4 tons per acre, well below the DOC limit, to ensure fruit concentration. Viticulture is fully certified organic and biodynamic. The grapes are hand-harvested in the final weeks of September. Following harvest, the grapes undergo a gentle vinification process designed to preserve the wine's freshness and aromatic complexity. Fermentation typically occurs at controlled temperatures, and the wine is aged to maintain its vibrant character.
