ABOUT THIS WINE
The Verdelho 15 Years Old from Henriques & Henriques is a non-vintage fortified wine from the Madeira DOC. Henriques & Henriques, established in 1850, is one of the oldest Madeira producers and uniquely owns vineyards, including the significant Quinta Grande. This allows for comprehensive quality management. The wine is made from 100% Verdelho grapes, a classic varietal of the region, and is aged for a minimum of 15 years in old oak barrels using the traditional 'canteiro' method, which utilizes natural sunlight for maturation. This approach contributes to the wine's distinctive character and longevity.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The Verdelho 15 Years Old is produced from 100% Verdelho grapes. Fermentation occurs in lagares with some whole clusters and skin maceration, utilizing native yeasts. Following fermentation, the wine is aged for a minimum of 15 years in old oak barrels via the 'canteiro' method, which involves maturation in a sun-exposed environment without artificial heat. This extended aging process is crucial in developing the wine's characteristic complexity and profile. The grapes are hand-harvested in mid to late September. Henriques & Henriques also maintains an internal cooperage for barrel management.
