ABOUT THIS WINE
The Bisci Verdicchio di Matelica is a single-varietal Verdicchio from the Matelica DOC appellation in Italy's Marche region. The Bisci estate, established in 1972 by brothers Giuseppe and Pierino Bisci, is now managed by their sons, Mauro and Tito. The winery's philosophy centers on respecting the vineyard's output and bottling the pure essence of the vine with minimal intervention. The Matelica subzone, with its inland location and calcareous clay soils, imparts distinct characteristics to the wine. The 2022 vintage holds particular significance as it commemorates 40 years of Bisci's winemaking history, dating back to their first bottle in 1982.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The Bisci Verdicchio di Matelica is produced using 100% Verdicchio grapes. Following harvest, the wine undergoes fermentation in glass-lined cement tanks. It is then aged for approximately eight months on its lees, also within cement tanks. This approach emphasizes the preservation of the grape's natural characteristics and the influence of the Matelica terroir. The estate has maintained organic farming practices for over two decades and holds CCPB certification.
