ABOUT THIS WINE
The Verdling Trocken Verdejo 2013 is a white wine produced by Ossian Vides y Vinos S.L. from 100% Verdejo grapes. It originates from the Vino de la Tierra de Castilla y Le贸n appellation in Spain, specifically from the Nieva sub-region of Segovia. The wine is distinguished by its use of ancient, ungrafted Verdejo vines, some dating back nearly 200 years. The producer, Ossian Vides y Vinos, is committed to organic farming and natural winemaking techniques, aiming to express the authentic character of old-vine Verdejo. The 2013 vintage experienced challenging weather conditions, including frost and late-season rain, which resulted in a selective harvest of grapes at optimal maturity.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The Verdling Trocken Verdejo is produced using 100% Verdejo grapes from old, ungrafted vines. The winemaking process begins with whole-cluster pressing, utilizing only the free-run juice. Fermentation is conducted with indigenous yeasts in various wooden vessels. Following fermentation, the wine is aged for nine months on its lees (b芒tonnage) in French oak barrels, with a proportion of new, one-year-old, and two-year-old barrels. An additional 12 months of bottle aging precedes release. The producer employs certified organic farming practices.
