ABOUT THIS WINE
Victorino 2018 is a red wine from the D.O. Toro, Spain, made from 100% Tinta de Toro grapes. The wine is produced by Teso La Monja, a project founded by the Eguren family, who have been instrumental in revitalizing the Toro region. The grapes are sourced from ungrafted, pre-phylloxera vines aged between 45 and over 100 years, grown at altitudes of 750-900 meters in vineyards with a distinctive soil composition. The family's winemaking philosophy emphasizes environmental integration and biodynamic viticulture, aiming to produce wines that reflect the purity of the terroir.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The winemaking process for Victorino 2018 begins with 100% destemmed grapes that are traditionally foot-pressed. Fermentation takes place in open oak vats at controlled temperatures of 28°C for 8-19 days, with light pump-overs. Following fermentation, malolactic fermentation occurs in new French oak. The wine then undergoes an aging period of 18 to 20 months in 100% new French oak barrels. Approximately 40,000 bottles were produced for this vintage.
