ABOUT THIS WINE
Bodegas Shaya's Vidilla Verdejo 2022 hails from the Rueda DO in Spain, a region renowned for its white wines, particularly those made from the indigenous Verdejo grape. Founded in 2008 by the Gil Family, Bodegas Shaya aims to produce high-quality wines that highlight the varietal's character. The vineyards are situated at an altitude of approximately 700 meters in the province of Segovia. A distinctive feature of this wine is its origin from old-vine Verdejo, with some parcels being up to 120 years old and many vines being ungrafted. The vineyards are planted on sandy soils with a top layer of river gravel and a deeper clay layer, contributing to the wine's concentration and aromatic complexity.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The Vidilla Verdejo is produced from 100% Verdejo grapes. Vinification occurs in stainless steel vats at controlled temperatures to preserve aromas. Following fermentation, the wine is aged for three months on its own lees. The vineyards are characterized by sandy soils with river gravel and clay, and the winery focuses on old-vine Verdejo, with some parcels being ungrafted. Harvests are often carried out at night to maintain grape freshness.
