The Vie Chardonnay 2021 is a 100% Chardonnay from Ortúzar y Poblete produccion de vinos limitada, located in the Région del Sur, Malleco Valley, Traiguén, Chile. It is part of the Moretta Wines brand, founded by Natalia Poblete and Maria Jose Ortuzar in 2015 with the aim of producing small-scale 'author's wines' that represent their terroir. The producer's project includes a vineyard in Cauquenes, known for its gentle slopes and deep, quartz-rich soils. The annual production is approximately 12,000 bottles, with a focus on the domestic market and select exports. The 2021 vintage was bottled in February 2024 and was offered as part of a temporary assortment.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The Vie Chardonnay 2021 is produced using a low-intervention approach. The grapes undergo whole-bunch pressing before fermentation, which is carried out using native yeasts. This fermentation takes place in barrel, where the wine subsequently ages for 11 months prior to bottling. This method is employed to capture the authentic expression of the Chardonnay grape and its origin.
