ABOUT THIS WINE
Villa Antinori Toscana Rosso is a red wine from Tuscany, Italy, produced by Marchesi Antinori. First created in 1928, this wine embodies the Antinori family's long-standing winemaking tradition and commitment to quality. The blend, primarily Sangiovese with additions of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Syrah, reflects a contemporary interpretation of Tuscan winemaking. The wine's classification as IGT Toscana, adopted in 2001, allows for greater flexibility in its composition, aligning with Piero Antinori's vision for a more international expression of the region. The 2022 vintage benefited from favorable weather conditions, including a mild winter and a warm, dry summer with opportune rainfall, leading to optimal grape maturation.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The winemaking process for Villa Antinori Toscana Rosso begins with destemming and gentle crushing of the grapes. Alcoholic fermentation occurs over 5-7 days with a maceration period of 8-12 days. Fermentation temperatures are controlled, with different limits set for various grape varietals to preserve their distinct characteristics. Following alcoholic fermentation, malolactic fermentation takes place in October and November. The wine is then aged for 12 months in French, Hungarian, and American oak barriques, followed by an additional eight months of bottle aging before its release.
