ABOUT THIS WINE
Viña Tarapacá was founded in 1874 by Don Francisco de Rojas y Salamanca at the foot of the Andes Mountains in Chile's Maipo Valley. Known as the 'Natural Clos of Maipo Valley', the historic El Rosario Estate sits in a natural basin surrounded by the Maipo River and surrounding mountain ranges. This unique geography provides a protective microclimate that allows traditional Bordeaux grape varieties to thrive and reach optimal ripeness.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
Grapes are hand-harvested from volcanic colluvial and alluvial soils in Isla de Maipo. The fruit undergoes a cold pre-fermentative maceration at 12°C for 3 to 4 days to preserve fresh fruit character before fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. Post-fermentation skin contact lasts up to 10 days for structural integration. Malolactic fermentation occurs in barrels, after which 80% of the wine is aged for 12 months in French and American oak barrels while 20% remains in stainless steel to preserve pure varietal expression.
