ABOUT THIS WINE
The Pranzegg Vino Rosso Leggero 2020 is a red wine from the Alto Adige region of Italy, produced by Weingut Pranzegg. The estate is run by Martin and Marion Gojer, who are dedicated to biodynamic farming and creating 'living wines'. The wine's name, translating to 'light red wine,' reflects its style. The vineyards are located on steep, mountainous terrain around Bolzano, planted on volcanic soils. The Gojers transitioned the winery from selling grapes to bottling their own wines, embracing a philosophy of minimal intervention in the cellar.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The winemaking process for the Pranzegg Vino Rosso Leggero begins with a short maceration of just one day, followed by spontaneous fermentation using native yeasts. Half of the juice may be aged on the skins of white wine for added complexity. Aging occurs partially in concrete eggs and partially in wooden barrels or fiberglass. The wine is typically bottled unfined and unfiltered with minimal sulfur addition. Harvest usually occurs in September.
