ABOUT THIS WINE
The 'Pop' line, launched with the 2023 vintage, is a new initiative by Ivana Radikon, continuing the legacy of her father, Stanko Radikon. These wines, 'Pop' Rosso and 'Pop' Bianco, are crafted from organically farmed grapes grown in the Brda region of Slovenia, a territory historically and viticulturally linked to Radikon's Italian base. The 'Pop' line aims to be more accessible and youthful, featuring shorter skin maceration periods compared to traditional Radikon orange wines. The name 'Pop' itself evokes a sense of being 'of the people,' highlighting the shared spirit of the cross-border Brda region. This collection represents Radikon's first venture into producing wines from their Slovenian vineyards, offering a fresh perspective on their natural winemaking philosophy.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The 'Pop' line is produced using natural winemaking methods. Grapes are destemmed and undergo spontaneous fermentation with native yeasts in stainless steel tanks, without temperature control. A key characteristic is the short skin maceration: a few days for the Rosso and two days for the Bianco. Following fermentation, the wines are aged for about 10 months in stainless steel with rackings, and then spend a few months in bottle. They are bottled unfiltered and with a small addition of sulfur at bottling. The grapes are organically farmed and hand-harvested.
