ABOUT THIS WINE
Blandy's is a historic, family-owned Madeira producer established in 1811, currently managed by the seventh generation of the family. This exceptionally rare single-vintage Madeira is crafted from the Terrantez grape, a noble variety that was on the absolute brink of extinction in the late 1980s. Sourced from the steep volcanic slopes of Câmara de Lobos on the south coast of Madeira island, this release represents a tiny, highly prized parcel that celebrates the rich viticultural heritage of the region.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The hand-harvested Terrantez grapes undergo natural yeast fermentation on the skins, which is stopped after approximately four days by fortification with neutral grape spirit to retain natural residual sugars. The wine is then aged for 37 years in seasoned 650-liter American oak casks using the traditional Canteiro method. The casks began their journey on the warm top floor of Blandy's Wine Lodge before gradually moving to cooler lower floors, allowing for a slow, oxidative concentration before bottling in April 2024.
