ABOUT THIS WINE
Casa de Vilacetinho, established in 1790, is one of the historic estates of the Vinho Verde region in Northern Portugal. Located in the Amarante sub-region, the estate was once part of a vast Benedictine monastery and features a beautiful Renaissance-era manor house overlooking the Douro River. VLCT represents the estate's contemporary vision, featuring a modern, eye-catching label designed by the renowned Portuguese agency Rita Rivotti. It is crafted to showcase the vibrant, youthful character of the region's indigenous grape varieties grown on the estate's 30 hectares of granitic soils.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The grapes for VLCT are entirely hand-harvested from east- and south-facing granitic slopes with a gentle gradient. In the cellar, the winemaking team avoids skin contact entirely, utilizing an open-spout fermentation method (bica aberta) in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats. This process preserves the natural carbon dioxide, resulting in the wine's signature light effervescence. The wine does not undergo oak aging or malolactic fermentation, ensuring the preservation of fresh primary fruit characteristics before early bottling.
