ABOUT THIS WINE
Weingut von Winning, founded in 1849 in Deidesheim, Pfalz, is one of Germany's most historic and prestigious estates. Revived in 2007 by Achim Niederberger and visionary winemaker Stephan Attmann, the estate returned to traditional 19th-century practices. This includes fermenting and aging top-tier dry Rieslings in large oak casks rather than stainless steel, giving them a texturally rich, almost Burgundian structure. The Deidesheimer Herrgottsacker vineyard sits on the geographical cusp of Deidesheim and Forst, beautifully marrying the fine-fruity elegance and cool herbal spiciness of Deidesheim with the muscular power and citrus intensity of Forst.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The grapes are 100% hand-harvested with strict selection from the Erste Lage Herrgottsacker vineyard. Vinification follows a minimal intervention philosophy. The juice undergoes 100% spontaneous fermentation using native yeasts in large traditional neutral oak casks (Doppelstückfass, 2400 liters). The wine is aged on its full lees in these casks to foster natural micro-oxygenation and impart a subtle creamy texture without dominant woody flavors. The process utilizes gravity flow instead of pumping, avoids fining, and involves only very light clarification before bottling.
