ABOUT THIS WINE
Domaine Vigneau-Chevreau's Vouvray Méthode Traditionnelle Brut Bio is a sparkling white wine from the Vouvray appellation in France's Loire Valley, made exclusively from Chenin Blanc. The estate, a family-run operation for five generations since 1875, is distinguished by its commitment to biodynamic and organic viticulture, holding organic certification from Ecocert and being one of only two biodynamic producers in Vouvray. The wine is produced using the traditional method, with secondary fermentation in the bottle, and undergoes an aging process of two years on its lees within the estate's limestone caves. The vineyards are situated across several villages within the Vouvray appellation, on soils composed of tuffeau, clay, and silex, with vines averaging 25 years of age.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
Domaine Vigneau-Chevreau produces its Vouvray Méthode Traditionnelle Brut Bio using the traditional method, which involves a secondary fermentation in the bottle to create its effervescence. The wine is made from 100% Chenin Blanc grapes. Fermentation is carried out using natural yeasts. A key aspect of its production is the extended aging period of two years on its lees, referred to as 'sur latte,' within the estate's limestone caves before disgorgement. The estate practices biodynamic and organic viticulture, with organic certification from Ecocert, and is one of only two producers in Vouvray to be certified biodynamic. The vineyards are located across several villages within the Vouvray appellation, on soils composed of tuffeau, clay, and silex, with an average vine age of 25 years.
