ABOUT THIS WINE
Dr. Bürklin-Wolf Weissburgunder Trocken 2022 is a dry white wine from the Pfalz region of Germany, crafted from 100% Weissburgunder grapes. The estate, a family-owned entity since 1597, is a pioneer in organic and biodynamic viticulture, being the first German member of the Biodyvin group. This approach emphasizes a deep connection with nature to showcase the specific properties of the vineyard sites, primarily located in Wachenheim on Buntsandstein and clay soils. The 2022 vintage experienced a growing season with initial water availability followed by summer drought, leading to ripe grapes with good structure and moderate alcohol. The wine's style is influenced by French examples, aiming for a full-bodied and accessible profile.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The Dr. Bürklin-Wolf Weissburgunder Trocken 2022 is produced using grapes from vineyards managed under certified organic and biodynamic practices. The harvest for the 2022 vintage occurred during dry phases, with yield correction applied. Vinification involves natural fermentation with indigenous yeasts, often taking place in a combination of stainless steel tanks and large, old oak vats. Following fermentation, the wine undergoes aging on its fine lees for approximately six months, and then on its own yeast sediment until March of the subsequent year. This process aims to develop complexity and texture in the final wine.
