ABOUT THIS WINE
Château d’Esclans, situated in the heart of Provence, was acquired by Sacha Lichine in 2006 with the revolutionary goal of creating world-class, premium rosés. Partnering with legendary winemaker Patrick Léon, Lichine introduced elite winemaking techniques to a category previously dismissed as simple. Whispering Angel, produced under the Caves d'Esclans négociant arm, quickly became a global phenomenon, driving a worldwide 'Rosé Renaissance.' The estate is now a partnership between Lichine and luxury group LVMH. The 20th Vintage Limited Edition celebrates two decades of this iconic bottling, which features the famous whispering cherubs inspired by a 19th-century chapel on the property.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The winemaking process for Whispering Angel is designed to maximize freshness and avoid oxidation. Grapes are harvested primarily at night or dawn to maintain cool temperatures. Upon arrival at the winery, they undergo rigorous sorting, including the use of advanced optical eye sorting technology. The grapes are completely destemmed and softly crushed, then cooled to 7–8°C using a heat exchange system to prevent excessive color extraction. Fermentation takes place entirely in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks with no oak contact. To build mid-palate texture and creaminess, bâtonnage (lees stirring) is performed twice weekly. The wine is aged on its fine lees for three to four months before final blending and bottling.
