ABOUT THIS WINE
The Left Coast Estate White Pinot Noir is a distinctive wine crafted from 100% Pinot Noir grapes grown in the Van Duzer Corridor of Oregon's Willamette Valley. What began as an experimental winemaking decision in the cold 2011 vintage to manage grape ripeness has evolved into a celebrated and unique offering. The winery, Left Coast Estate, is a family-run operation committed to sustainable practices and producing high-quality wines from their own estate vineyards. This wine challenges perceptions by presenting the aromatic profile of Pinot Noir in a white wine format, showcasing the versatility of the grape and the innovative spirit of the producer.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The creation of Left Coast Estate's White Pinot Noir begins with the careful selection of 100% Pinot Noir grapes. Harvested at a Brix of 23.2, the fruit is immediately pressed at cold temperatures to meticulously limit skin contact and prevent color extraction, a crucial step for a white wine. Fermentation takes place entirely in stainless steel tanks, preserving the wine's inherent freshness. A partial malolactic fermentation (20%) is carried out to introduce a subtle complexity and roundness. Following fermentation, the wine is aged for six months in stainless steel, resting on its lees to develop texture and depth. This meticulous process ensures the wine retains its bright character while showcasing the unique potential of Pinot Noir as a white wine.
