ABOUT THIS WINE
Bodegas H. Calvente, founded in 1997 by self-taught viticulturalist Horacio Calvente, is located in the rugged Sierra del Chaparral and Sierra de los Guájares mountains of Granada, Spain. Operating at extreme altitudes of 700 to 1,000 meters above sea level, the estate specializes in mountain viticulture. Xate-O was created as a fresh, energetic expression of high-altitude Moscatel de Alejandría, showcasing how extreme elevation and cooling Mediterranean maritime winds can transform a traditionally sweet grape into a brilliantly crisp, dry white wine.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The grapes are hand-harvested in small 15 kg crates at dawn to preserve freshness and prevent oxidation. Vinification takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. To enhance texture, complexity, and mid-palate weight, the wine is aged on its fine lees (lías finas) in stainless steel before bottling.
