ABOUT THIS WINE
The Xavier Vignon Vacqueyras 2022 is a red wine from the Southern Rhône Valley, crafted by esteemed winemaker Xavier Vignon. It is an AOP Vacqueyras appellation wine, primarily composed of Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvèdre. Vignon's winemaking philosophy emphasizes precision and respect for terroir, aiming to capture the distinct character of the Rhône Valley. The Grenache grapes are sourced from vines over 60 years old, grown on terraces of rolled pebbles, while Syrah thrives on clay-limestone soils and the centenary Mourvèdre vines are planted on alluvial terraces, all contributing to the wine's complexity and concentration.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The Xavier Vignon Vacqueyras 2022 is produced using certified organic and sustainable farming practices. Grapes are hand-harvested and then vinified in concrete vats. A four-week maceration period is employed for gentle extraction. The aging process varies by varietal: Grenache and Mourvèdre mature for 18 months in concrete vats, while Syrah is aged for 6 months in concrete and then 12 months in barrels. This approach aims to highlight the purity of fruit and the distinct characteristics of each grape and vineyard.
