ABOUT THIS WINE
The Zenato S Cristina Lugana DOC 2022 is a white wine from the Veneto region of Italy, specifically the Lugana area south of Lake Garda. It is primarily crafted from the Turbiana grape, a varietal that thrives in the region's unique clay-rich soils. Zenato, a family winery established in 1960, has been instrumental in promoting and producing wines from this indigenous grape. The Lugana DOC appellation regulations mandate a minimum of 90% Turbiana in its wines. Zenato's commitment to native varietals and their estate vineyards in Lugana contribute to the distinctive character of this wine.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The Zenato S Cristina Lugana DOC is produced using Turbiana grapes grown in Zenato's vineyards in San Benedetto di Lugana. The grapes are typically cultivated using the Guyot method and are hand-harvested. Fermentation is carried out in stainless steel tanks under controlled temperatures, followed by a period of maturation on the lees. Standard Lugana DOC regulations require a minimum aging period of around 4-5 months. Malolactic fermentation is generally not performed for this style of Lugana.
