ABOUT THIS WINE
Viñedos Don Leo is located in the Valle del Tunal, within the municipality of Parras, Coahuila, Mexico. Established in one of the highest wine-growing regions in the world at an altitude of around 2,100 meters above sea level, the estate benefits from cold nights and warm days, which allow for slow, balanced ripening of the grapes. Founded by the Leo family, the winery pays homage to Don Leo Mendel, a pioneer who arrived in Mexico in 1938. This extreme high-altitude terroir imparts a distinctive freshness and vibrant character to their wines, making them standouts in the emerging Mexican wine scene.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The Zinfandel grapes are harvested by hand at optimal ripeness to preserve fresh acidity. Upon arrival at the winery, the grapes undergo a gentle direct pressing with minimal skin contact to extract a delicate, bright raspberry-pink color. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks at cool temperatures (14-16°C) to preserve the vibrant primary fruit aromas. The wine is aged briefly on its fine lees in stainless steel before filtration and early bottling to maintain its youthful, crisp profile.
