ABOUT THIS WINE
Amphoré by Domaine Des Grottes is a unique red wine from Beaujolais, France, made from 100% Gamay. It is produced under strict biodynamic and minimal-intervention 'zero-zero' principles, meaning no chemical treatments in the vineyard and no added sulfites or other additions in the cellar. The wine is intentionally declassified as Vin de France. A defining characteristic of Amphoré is its aging process, which takes place exclusively in a selection of four different handmade clay amphorae, including traditional Georgian qvevri and a Spanish tinaja. This approach highlights the producer's commitment to natural winemaking and expressing the purity of the grape and terroir.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
Amphoré is crafted using a 'zero-zero' approach, signifying no chemical treatments in the vineyard and no added sulfites or other interventions in the cellar. The grapes undergo a short semi-carbonic maceration. Following fermentation, the wine is aged exclusively in a combination of four handmade amphorae: three Georgian qvevri and one Spanish tinaja. This method eschews oak aging, allowing the wine's natural fruit characteristics and the subtle influence of the clay vessels to define its profile. The wine is bottled without filtration.
